Hindi
Consuelo Bustillo Penunuri ("Hindi") was born and raised in Mexico. She was educated in Switzerland, France and Mexico, attending the Paris American Academy 1987-1988 with instruction in drawing the human figure. She also attended the Denede Fashion College in Mexico and Escuela Nalional de Pintura y Escultura (painting, sculpture). Hindi has shown at the Centro Cultural Naucalli (2002, group exhibition), Centro Asturiano (2001) and Casa del a Cultura Benito Juarez (2001). She speaks English and French in addition to hernative Spanish.
The artist has experience in
independent art instruction and owns her own
gallery, Hindi Buni. Her highly unique
sculptures of the human body are created by
hand and consist of many elements, including
bronze powder, gold leaf, bronze leaf, marble
powder, recycled paper, bronze plate, resin and
fiberglass. Hindi attempts to show the
agelessness and timeless beauty of art and
the human body through her work, as
well as the love between two kindred
souls.
